About Yongle Market 永樂市場

Yongle Market is right next to Taipei Xiahai City God Temple. Yongle Market is located in the Dihua Street business district. It is a very traditional local market with fresh fruits and vegetables sold on the first floor and a fabric wholesale store on the second floor. The food court on the first floor is very lively because of the famous Lin Hefa Oil Rice and Wan Long Sashimi Shop. There was a constant stream of people queuing up, and the queue of people waiting squeezed out of the door. There are toilets available in the market. Sometimes cultural and creative markets are held in outdoor squares.

Oil rice(or Chinese Rice Dumpling) is a traditional Taiwanese rice dish. It is basically rice cooked with oil and lots of dried shrimp, mushrooms, pork shreds…etc..
Lin Hefa Oil Rice is really popular among the locals and it is a famous stall in Yongle Market, Dihua Street. It is located on the first floor and open from 07:30–13:00(Closed Mondays). They sell a lunch box and it is only available for take-out. If you want to avoid the queues, it is recommended that you arrive early because They may sell out early. Locals go to buy lunch at 11am and need to queue longer. Serving sizes are really large so you can buy one and share it with your friends.

Wan Long Sashimi Shop is really popular among the locals and it is anoher famous stall in Yongle Market, Dihua Street. There are still long queues during meal times on weekdays. It was packed with people at 11am, and the line almost reached the door. Each person has to spend a minimum of $280. ​​Free miso soup is provided. You can get your own miso soup, which has a lot of ingredients and is refilled for free. Because the seats in the restaurant are narrow and you may need to share a table with others, it will be crowded when dining if you have a lot of belongings.
